BARCHICK SAYS

Rita's in a Stokey original: it's got that industrial decor and polka dot tablecloths, the menu on the chalk board and naked light bulbs dangling from up high - so far, so good.  Throw in the sweet smell of BBQ into the mix, get an interesting mix of locals that have grown out of KFC and Nando’s and are looking for something a little more sophisticated, and you've got Rita's.

It’s named after the twin slushie machine in the corner that produces Margaritas so red they match the table cloths. The rest of the cocktail list is classic with some good wines if you’re not feeling the spirits. Don’t miss out on the food: ox heart and fish tacos are better than in Mexico, the shrimp rolls take you to the seaside and the ginger and soy hot wings are just the way chicken should always be.
