With its minimal signage, industrial style courtyard, bare brick, weathered leather couches, hip hop and cocktails, this is the kinda bar you’d expect to find in East London, or at least Melbourne, but no, it’s in Auckland, and we love it. It feels like they’ve packed an awesome bar into a narrow driveway, but it works.

Best known for their live DJs, head down any night of the week after seven for some free music. Come early for a table in the courtyard out front, then bag a spot on the dance floor - this place picks up late.

With four classic or signature cocktails to choose from the menu is easily digestible, and covers tastes from sweet tooth (think marshmallow-infused vodka or peanut butter bourbon) to smooth (they did us a particularly good New York Sour). PSC’s tapas is pretty good, but we’re all about their Sunday BBQ.
