BARCHICK SAYS

This is Berlin’s answer to 20th Century Paris... Moulin Rouge style. And yes, there are nipple tassels. In Berlin’s hippest district, Kreuzberg, hides this wonderland of drink and debauchery; look for the burlesqued-up doorman and it’s likely you’ve found your way.

The innovative cocktail menu is the brainchild of Bahan Memedov and his gang of experts and bartenders who can be found shaking their stuff behind the bar, dressed up in corsets and sharp suits. The cocktails are infused with bitters and syrups that are all made in house and are named after famous burlesque dancers. BarChick got her Von Teese on and went for ‘A Date with Dita’ – bourbon, grapefruit, dates and bitters.

The show kicks off around 11pm when sexy mummas take to the stage and strip off, but if you just can’t wait, the open dressing rooms mean you can take a peek at them getting glammed up. Or just hit up the cosy bar at the front and enjoy the DJs they often have playing. The crowd is casual-cool and unpretentious (well what else do you expect in Berlin?) and the party showed no sign of stopping when BarChick’s taxi pitched up at 4am.
