Malbar at Malmaison

BARCHICK SAYS

Located in the heart of The Mailbox, this hotel bar is first-class. The space is big and the décor is rife with red and black, so no surprises there. Teaming with businessmen sinking bottles of red, girls on high street shopping trips sampling cocktails and couples hitting the Champagne, the crowd is a mixed sack.
The bar is supported by two huge pillars, designed to look like post boxes and they’re covered in post cards, so if you get bored or your mate is late, you can busy yourself in these to retain a sense of purpose. Alternatively sit at the large, modern bar and admire the numerous bottles of spirits or chill around the edge on one of the sofas.
The cocktail menu is good and does all the classics very well, but don’t be afraid to get experimental, the Mexican Martini with tequila, White Cacao liqueur, coffee liqueur and fresh chilli gave us the kind of kick up the a*se we needed to leave the hotel. If you’re peckish the Mal sliders and fried squid will keep you upright.

Post us here anytime baby.
