Condesa

BARCHICK SAYS

These Danes have their Mexican down. And we’re not talking any heartburn-inducing greasy excuse for Mexican either. It’s light and fresh, and most importantly comes with pitchers of Margarita to wash it down with.

Situated right by the canal, watch your footing on the steps heading in, and grab either a high table by the DJ (more on that later) or a low table in the dining area. Whatever you order, get a side of guacamole – this is how it should be done – and then move onto the tequila-based house specials. We like their Smoked Pisco Sour with pisco, crema de mezcal, lemon juice, agave, and bitters. Smokey, spicy and a touch sweet - ideal.

With a massive terrace out front, while away the afternoon sipping pretty, and when the sun goes down, head inside where kick ass DJs do their thing, with Vice magazine throwing the occasional epic party (Condesa is from the same people that brought us Bakken and Dyrehaven in Vesterbro). Shake what yo mama gave you among a hot mix of gorgeous Danes, expats and a few adventurous tourists until the late hours. Not a sombrero in sight.
