The King's Wark

BARCHICK SAYS

The award winning 15th Century King’s Wark, nestles in the heart of Leith’s famous shore. This place is certainly worth a wee visit. The low ceilings and rough stonewalls tell of the building's 15th-Century origins and create an intimate atmosphere when the light fades and candles are lit. Pay attention lads, romantic spot. The dark wooden tables and floors have been lovingly restored and the staff are helpful, making the place a hit with amiable locals who help to give the pub a cosy and welcoming vibe.

Not a cocktail in sight, but four rotating ale pumps to make friends with. The bar is certainly well stocked too, with a hefty combination of pub classics and choice imports. The food here is stellar; BarChick loves a good hangover curing Sunday breakfast or any of the Scottish sourced seafood. Put simply, this is a decent pub for all.
