Under the Stairs

BARCHICK SAYS

Short and simple, this place is bloody decent. A quirky little basement bar/restaurant just a short walk from the castle, this place is teeming with character. Walk in and immediately feel like you’ve stumbled into granny’s living room (if your gran’s stylish and likes it kitsch). The low ceilings, lampshades and the mismatched furniture make you feel quite at home.

Check out the top notch selection of booze. The bartender knows his game so feel free to hit him with whatever you fancy cocktail wise. If you wanna stick to the menu then try the Pumpkin Pie (Courvoisier, pumpkin butter, maple syrup, Grand Marnier, lemon, vanilla sugar and nutmeg), kinda healthy, right? Sponge up with the food too, it’s good, with daily specials often taking a seasonal local twist and all for a fairly reasonable price. You’ll find us here day and night, we love it.
