Deco at Hotel Es Vive

BARCHICK SAYS

Es Vive is an Ibiza institution for locals, tourists, and expats alike. With the style and elegance of 1920s Miami, for years the hotel has been the perfect place to party long into the night (we have loved their afterparties in the soundproofed club “Experience” for years), and it can all be found just a stone’s throw away from Ibiza town and the beach. It's about to get better as Es Vive has opened its restaurant doors to people not staying at the hotel, in the form of Deco: a beautiful and stylish art deco cocktail bar and restaurant.

Head there for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner, just get there before midnight so you can sample one of their cocktails. The list was devised by Chris Edwardes of Aura (and formerly The Groucho), taking on the same retro theme as the bar with poolside Piña Coladas, five variations on a Bloody Mary including a Bloody Bull with beef consommé (these guys are great for hangovers) and even bringing back the Blue Hawaii with blue Curaçao (outrageous but surprisingly good!)

At midnight it’s all about the hotel’s guests so you’ll be ushered out of the courtyard and into the club where you can make as much noise as you like. It stays open til around 8am (when you can resurface just in time for breakfast…who needs a room anyway?)
