Tumble down the stairs into this low ceiling basement and meet Rojo, a red raw, sexy and mischievous bar, where nobody plays by the rules. The first to bring the mixology craze to Jersey, BarChick likes to get crunk here until the nightclubs are ready for her.

Previously described as a ‘70s porn den’ this place will charm the pants off you whilst flirting with your boyfriend. Deep base music pulses from the DJ booth at the shady end of the room, and there’s a bar that flanks the crowd. Go for house concoctions, classic cocktails or whatever else you feel like, or be seduced by the silver-tongued bartenders. If you’re looking for something particularly lurid then check out the snug; a golden room pitched next to the DJ and available for private use.
