Wax Bar

BARCHICK SAYS

Enter this dim, orange-lit bar and act like you’re the Fonz in this 70s themed hangout. With old school ghetto blasters standing in as back bar shelves, cassette tape lamp shades, vintage VHS TVs and an Elvis clock, it’s clear that music is a big part of this bar and that’s before we even mention the banging jukebox near the door, or the huge selection of old vinyls they have by the bar (request away).

It’s all very laid back in here with loud tunes, bartenders in flat caps and some good affordable drinks. Bottles of beer come in around four quid and the cocktails are about £7. Expect the classic Margaritas and Brambles but check out their seasonal menu if you’re wanting something a little different. BarChick had the Maple Alexander with Buffalo Trace Bourbon, milk and cream, and cinnamon infused maple syrup… mmm, that always goes down smooth.

No matter what day of the week you come here it’s always ready to party and open until 2am on weekdays and 3am at the weekend. This place isn’t huge so things get pretty busy later on in the night, and the weekends are known to be packed, but that just shows that this is a good place to be, right?
