BARCHICK SAYS

Found tucked between the streets of Chelsea and South Kensington, this 5 star hotel is the definition of opulence. Designed by superwoman Anushka Hemple you'd expect nothing less. From the word go this black building is an orgy of east n west, and we love it. You arrive into the lobby, but look left and make your way downstairs where there is no obvious sign of it being a hotel, other than the fine service.

The cocktail menu is great, but if it’s not for you then the girls with the trendy haircuts or the barman will be more than happy to offer you something more to your liking. We loved the Wake Up Call (Blake's take on an Espresso Martini), The Matt Bianco with its layer of Absinthe (for those feeling brave like warrior), and the Chinese Mojito which looks like the overrated favourite but it tastes a hundred times better.

The Asian invasion doesn't stop at your surroundings, it continues into the drinks and dim sum so tuck in, but equally try a western sandwich. It's a great place, but you'd hope so with their prices, but get over them, get dinner, stay the night and deal with it in the morning.
