Bodo's Schloss

BARCHICK SAYS

Whether or not you're a mountain lover, this place will quickly become your new best friend. Imagine you’re on the slopes and you pull into a chalet for a refuel… well enter Bodo's Schloss.

You will be greeted by pretty girls in traditional Austrian dress and Heidi plaits, and led to your table (or the bar, that’s your choice), either way you’ll be happy, yes boys. Take in your perfectly wooden surroundings. Giant cow bells hang above the bar, old ski boots loiter around, fireplaces with neatly stacked logs occupy corners and the low ceiling and shuttered windows make it all the more snug. Sitting on a wooden stool we drank The Snow Angel with Ciroc Vodka, elderflower, passion fruit and sparkling Gruner Veltliner and the Snap Frost with Tanqueray Gin, pink grapefruit vodka, rhubarb liquer, fresh grapefruit and San Pellegrino limonata, both were great.

Stay for dinner (there’s a blizzard brewing) at a pretty red and white checked table.  Take a date and tuck into wiener schnitzel and a bottle of vino, perfect. It’s pretty damn authentic in here and things kick off - by the end of the night we wondered why the hell we were wearing a LBD and not a ski suit.  Damn, the chair lift’s shut.
