BARCHICK SAYS

Waterloo station isn’t exactly the oasis of calm and quiet that you might need after a hard day’s work, but right above the noise and kerfuffle we’ve found the perfect pit stop. The bar resembles an Orient Express style carriage: it’s surrounded by marble topped tables, Chesterfield style armchairs and deep leather sofas to create the kind of style you wish you travelled in.

It’s the first place in a station to have a self-service wine machine - dangerous but so good! Or hit the bar and enjoy some great cocktails. BarChick loved The Fat Controller made with Belvedere Black Raspberry vodka, Chambord, syrup and lime juice, topped with Moet & Chandon Rose Champagne or the All-Change Bloody Mary was one hell of a kick start to the evening. They have a British tapas menu, breakfast that included smoothies and as every “train” should, a great selection of tea from the Rare Tea Company. Oh and grab a hamper for the journey, they’re amazing!

The finishing touch was the loo, you can pee for free and the usual messages of love and hate from a biro are nowhere in sight.
