Cafe Kick

BARCHICK SAYS

In the big time buzzing Exmouth Market, Café Kick may have the words 'sports bar' adorned above its doors. Yet this isn't some cheap, tacky joint full of  lager loving blokes with builders bums in football shirts, shouting at plasma screens. Rather, this super cool hangout, full of Iberian vibes, is slick in the way that only continental bars seem to manage. Vintage football shirts from around the world hang from the walls while the décor is simple and cheap, but fitting in perfectly with its surroundings. It's packed with a trendy, beautiful and multicultural crowd, all spilling out into the street whatever the weather and taking advantage of the fantastic cocktails on offer – their Caipirina gets a special shout out. What's more, with happy hour between 4 and 7 it won't go breaking the bank.

Like its sister bar in Shoreditch, there's table football if that's your thing, but BarChick prefers to concentrate on the drinking. With its Spanish inspirations there's a great tapas menu too, full of cold meats, cheeses, olives and the like.
