Not to be defeated, Russell Norman has reopened his Polpetto on Berwick Street and we’re well into it. Not far from his old space above the French House, this time it's bigger and better and still has the uber talented Florence Knight holding things down in the kitchen! The décor is less industrial than his other spots, more quaint/chic with pale blue peeled walls, studded red leather booths and oversized tiles on the ceiling.

Take a seat at the Aperitivo Bar with its neat fold out seats and get stuck into their list of typical Italian cocktails. They work with the kitchen to concoct seasonal drinks, so go for the special (we had a Rhubarb Bellini) and follow it up with a Negroni Sblagiato (Campari, Mandino Rosso & Prosecco). The food is unmissable and perfect for sharing... order the hare pappardelle, cavalo nero and finish with a blood orange sorbet. The Berwick Street food game has just been upped!

Oh and the room downstairs has an ideal view of the open plan kitchen. Perfect for private parties for 10-12 of your mates.
