We’re damn lucky to live in this city with the best bars on our doorstep, but this epic list has also created one hell of a travel itinerary for the next year. Who's with us? Whether you're top 50 in the world, top 100 or just knocking out killer drinks in a quiet neighbourhood somewhere, big up to all the bars, bar teams, owners, everyone involved that works so hard to give us such incredible hospitality.  Hats off to you all. 1: THE WORLD’S BEST BAR: DANDELYAN, LONDON And the best bar in the world is…… about to close forever. Right. Two days after announcing Dandelyan (as we know it) is no more, it’s been crowned World’s Best Bar. CURVEBALL. This purple leather clad, botanically inspired god of a bar right on the Southbank will be sorely missed. So what’s next for Dandelyan? Agreeing that his approach can be ‘divisive’, Ryan Cheti aka. Mr Lyan and his crew of creative masterminds were keeping schtum about the new project. One thing’s for sure – whatever this bunch turn their green fingered hands to turns to magic. 2: THE AMERICAN BAR AT THE SAVOY, LONDON After being crowned best bar in the world at Tales of the Cocktail this summer, The American Bar’s swooped in at 2nd place on this list. Well it would be boring if the same bars won all the time wouldn’t it (cough)?. It’s hosted more stars than a SNL special, it’s a landmark in booze history and is the birthplace of the Savoy Cocktail Book (aka the bartender’s bible). New head bartender Maxim Schulte is keeping the standards high as ever – he’s only the 11th head bartender in The Savoy's 125-year history. Impressive. 3: MANHATTAN, SINGAPORE Singapore bar’s scene means business. Taking the top spot in Asia is Manhattan: New York glam, Golden Age cocktails, plush chesterfield sofas and candlelit marble tables. Hell yeah, this has got seduction written all over it. Manhattan boasts the world’s first in-hotel rickhouse and a sick collection of house-made ingredients. Head bartender Philip Bischoff is just one of the many mixology maestros casting their magic in Singapore. 4: NOMAD, NEW YORK So dark, so sexy, so bl**dy good. New York’s NoMad is everything you want a cocktail bar to be. It’s got killer drinks, a shimmering golden and sky high back bar and insane food (hello, truffle and foie gras chicken pot pie). Downstairs is a little more laid back, upstairs is all dressed up for date-night. Bar manager Pietro Collina is the guy you want to know; lucky for you we’ve got a BarChick TV episode with him coming out soon. 5: CONNAUGHT BAR, LONDON Want to feel special? This is our go-to spot. It’s a showstopper: sleek and stylish, with cocktails to match. Hailed as the legend of this list, this beautiful hotel bar more than deserves the accolade. As does Ago Perrone who has built a great team and created a seriously impressive menu. But let’s face it, you’re here for the Martinis. Get that trolly wheeled on over, you’re in for a real treat. 6: BAR TERMINI, LONDON Did someone say Negroni time? Everyone knows that this Soho bolthole is where to head if this is your drink of choice. This no-fuss Italian bar, that’s name and concept were inspired by Termini station in Rome pours practically faultless bottled cocktails. 7: THE CLUMSIES, ATHENS Welcome to the Greek bar that’s killing it at the moment. Yes, the cocktails are awesome. Yes, the all-day vibe encourages locals to party at this hotspot. But it’s also the focus on interaction between bartender and customer that makes this bar rock; no pretence just damn good times. 8: ATLAS, SINGAPORE There’s something awesome about a Great Gatsby jazz-age bar in a city that’s all high rise and mod-con. There’s a focus on gin-based cocktails, so lie back in your velvet armchair and enjoy. Make sure to clock the three-storey gold gin refrigerator shining like a beacon of booziness (it’s pretty impossible not to). 9: DANTE, NEW YORK THIS is why Dante is one of the best bars in the world. Refreshingly simple, there’s nothing OTT about Dante – unless you count the quality of the drinks, or perhaps the killer Golden Spbagliato. This Italian café is an NYC institution; Unpretentiousness Italian drinking is also mirrored on the menu – think Aperitivo style and low-ABV. Cocktails are best enjoyed perched at the bar, soaking up the charm of the bar team. Head bartender Stacey Swenson is girl-bossing her way through the industry, which we love. 10: THE OLD MAN, HONG KONG Recognise the guy in the abstract portrait? Yep, it’s Hemingway – and suddenly the name becomes clear. He famously loved a good cocktail, and the nine drinks on the menu are a nod to this. This bar has cosy casual vibes all over it – more living room than smart bar. Kick back and enjoy the creations from Roman Ghale, Agung Prabowo and James Tamang. With time spent at the Shangri-La, Mandarin Oriental and The Mira hotel, you know you’re in good hands. 11. Licorería Limantour – Mexico City, Mexico 12. Bar High Five – Tokyo, Japan 13. The pavements of Soho and the Strand become legit catwalks as people crack out their chicest and craziest outfits in equal measure.  All this sartorial spotting is thirsty work, so BarChick has rounded up the best bars to get your cocktail fix in amongst all the catwalks and couture.

KEEP IT LOCAL

Because teetering along in those Manolos aint easy Swift Swift is the black handbag of the bar world - suitable for any time. Upstairs you can just cruise in, and they’ve gone casual atmosphere and light ’n long on the drinks. Downstairs gets a little darker, a lot sexier and they have a piano which sets a suitably Soho tone. The drinks get heavier too – their whisky collection is off the hook with over 250 to choose from. With cocktail royalty Bobby and Mia (from Dead Rabbit aka. best bar in the world fame) and Rosie and Edmund (Oriole and Nightjar) at the helm, it was always going to rock. 12 Old Compton St, Soho, London W1D 4TQ   Opium A former Chinatown gambling den now deals strictly in dim sum, cocktails and back alley glamour. Incense and low lighting sets the mood, while the various menus have their own intrigue. There are multiple floors to choose from and hiding places a plenty - don’t miss The Mysterious Yam Sing Shots in The Attic, while the Zodiac menu is a sight to behold. 15 -16 Gerrard Street, London W1D 6JE   The Vault When you wanna escape the madness of Soho, get a seat and a damn good drink, this is the place to descend to. Underneath London’s oldest whisky shop is this speakeasy neighbourhood cocktail bar. Have a cruise around the shop and keep an eye out for the “bookshelf” – give it a nudge, get down the staircase and you’re one step closer to damn good drinks and easy vibes. The cocktails are epic, the crowd chill and you won’t spot an Instagrammer in sight (trust us - the lighting.) 3 Greek St, Soho, London W1D 4NX   Bloomsbury Club Just a short hop away in Bloomsbury is this stunner, and it’s well worth a visit. It’s a beauty with a 1920’s-30’s vibe, colonial touches, plush leather chairs and that whiskey cabinet (with 60 types from around the world). If you’re swapping the Vogues for something more fat cat there’s a cigar menu and lit up smoking terrace. The best bit? It’s open ’til 3am. Told you it was good. Just get the shades ready for tomorrow, yeah? 16-22 Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3NN   Beaufort Bar at The Savoy The Savoy is the bench mark for all things shiny, skip the queues at The American Bar and take your schmoozing game to the Beaufort Bar. Dripping in solid gold (£40ks worth to be precise) it’s much easier to let loose here if someone else is picking up the bill. At £25 a pop, a round of cocktails might be worth more than your Pradas. Company card, anyone? The Savoy Hotel, 189 Strand, London, WC2R 0EU

DOING IT FOR THE GRAM

Up your Insta game with these stylish spots & serves The Gibson Bar Not only does it serve the best pickled-onion-laced martinis in London, but this bar in Old Street has serious cred for its vessels. Why not accessorise your look with a cocktail served in a flamingo? Or maybe a candy sprinkled donut? If pink’s not your vibe, go for the Electric Earl - your drink will arrive in a neon colour-changing lightbulb. Those Likes will be racking up faster than Kate Moss at an after-show party. 44 Old St, London EC1V 9AQ Nightjar The new menu at this sexy subterranean speakeasy is all about ‘Arts & Crafts’, so you be sure of awesome aesthetic appeal. Slide into a booth, enjoy the table service (no waiting at the bar for you), and wait to be dazzled. Order the Fandango. The vessel it’s served in is pretty enough to rival any of the couture pieces you just watched waltz down the catwalk. Best to book, as this place gets busy (especially when the live music is playing), but securing a seat here is the hottest ticket in town. 129 City Rd, Hoxton, London EC1V 1JB   sketch There are so many reason to get your snap on in sketch - the blush pink scalloped banquettes; the woodland wonderland of The Glade, those space-age egg toilets. Not only this, but their cocktails are fly AF. Tuck yourself away in The Parlour or find a cosy nook under the loos (seriously). Cocktails are almost as gorge as the interiors. Almost. 9 Conduit St, Mayfair, London W1S 2XG   GŌNG Bar at Shangri-La Hotel Get high this LFW by heading to GŌNG Bar at Shangri-La Hotel in The Shard. Not only are the views insane (it’s the highest hotel bar in Western Europe, FYI) but on Tuesday 18th they launch a new menu that’s more jaw-dropping than an Alexander McQueen original. Try Director’s Cut, a cinematic beauty inspired by the invention of film, or maybe Over The Rainbow, which arrives in a hot air balloon. The Cooperman, on the other hand, is made by separating Ginjo Sake from the Taru barrel and infusing it with Mastiha crystals. Now that’s glitzy. The Shard, Shangri-La Hotel, 31 St Thomas St, London SE1 9QU   Dalloway Terrace BarChick loves autumn fashion - which is maybe why we’re so into with Dalloway Terrace’s latest makeover. London’s most popular floral terrace has got her russet glad rags on and is looking more chic than Alexa Chung in a Peter-Pan collar. Who doesn’t look the bomb surrounded by glowing gold foliage? It’s totally our colour, darling. 16-22 Great Russell St, Fitzrovia, London WC1B 3NN

COCKTAILS & CUISINE

‘cos if there’s one thing BarChick doesn’t believe, it’s that eating is cheating Aquavit Just a skip from the Strand is Aquavit - Nordic cuisine with a Michelin star to its name. Think less IKEA meatballs, and more of a smörgåsbord of delights. Gravlax, oysters and veal tartare are the perfect size to pick at. Unlike with your favourite Chloe bag, sharing is caring. Definitely try one of their many aquavit offerings - these Scandi spirits pack a punch. The cocktails are banging too - our current fave being the Attikslag Martini. St James's Market, 1 Carlton St, St. James's, London SW1Y 4QQ   Aqua Kyoto A gorgeous terrace overlooking Regent Street. Some of the finest sushi the city has to offer. A restaurant which scores major glam points. Do we need more reasons to head to Aqua Kyoto when the crowds of LFW gets too hectic? Oh yeah, their cocktails are pretty stunning too. Practice your pout and order the Read My Lips - vodka, pear sake and rose wine, finished with cherry air. MWAH. 5th Floor, 240 Regent Street, (Entrance 30 Argyll St, W1F 7EB, London W1B 3BR Gymkhana This Michelin-starred restaurant is inspired by Indian gymkhana clubs, where members of high society socialise, dine, drink and play sport. We’re no so sure about the last part (unless you count bar hopping as a sport), but the rest is bang on. Take a seat at their gorgeous bar - all oak panelling and vintage prints - and order yourself some nibbles. Venison Keema Naan has out vote, especially when accompanied by the Quinine Sour. It’s their take on a White Lady, and is hella restorative after LFW madness. 42 Albemarle St, Mayfair, London W1S 4JH   Balthazar For old-school New York glamour, you can’t really beat Balthazar. Red leather booths, a ton of dark wood and dazzling mirrors makes this the place to see and be seen. Make an impact and order Le Balthazar Plateaux de Fruits De Mer. It costs a pretty penny, but you’ll be the crustacean-laden envy of every other diner. What’s more, there’s a new Manhattan Hour, offering 10 Manhattans for £10, from 10pm daily. Count us in. 4-6 Russell Street, WC2B 5HZ Duck & Waffle You’ve been to all the after parties. You’ve outlasted the best of them. Now you need some damn food to soak up all that Champagne. Answer: London’s premium 24 hour restaurant. Whizz up to Duck & Waffle and tuck into their late night menu, served 11.30pm - 5am. We recommend the Spiced Duck Donut for some mind-blowing midnight munch. The current cocktail menu from maestro Rich Woods is entitled ‘On Reflection’ and looks back over favourite creations from the last twelve months. 110 Bishopsgate, London EC2N 4AY" ["post_title"]=> string(48) "Best Bars to Drink in During London Fashion Week" ["post_excerpt"]=> string(0) "" ["post_status"]=> string(7) "publish" ["comment_status"]=> string(6) "closed" ["ping_status"]=> string(6) "closed" ["post_password"]=> string(0) "" ["post_name"]=> string(48) "best-bars-to-drink-in-during-london-fashion-week" ["to_ping"]=> string(0) "" ["pinged"]=> string(0) "" ["post_modified"]=> string(19) "2018-09-17 12:01:37" ["post_modified_gmt"]=> string(19) "2018-09-17 11:01:37" ["post_content_filtered"]=> string(0) "" ["post_parent"]=> int(0) ["guid"]=> string(32) "http://www.barchick.com/?p=53881" ["menu_order"]=> int(0) ["post_type"]=> string(4) "post" ["post_mime_type"]=> string(0) "" ["comment_count"]=> string(1) "0" ["filter"]=> string(3) "raw" } [4]=> object(WP_Post)#1170 (24) { ["ID"]=> int(59971) ["post_author"]=> string(1) "4" ["post_date"]=> string(19) "2018-09-12 20:24:17" ["post_date_gmt"]=> string(19) "2018-09-12 19:24:17" ["post_content"]=> string(4445) "

Alphabet Bar, Angel

When it comes to BarChick’s ABCs, it’s pretty simple: Always Buying Cocktails… Now we’ve got more reason to splash the cash as Alphabet Bar arrives in Angel. Think you’ve heard the name before? The legendary original was in Soho, and it’s back with a swish revamp and some of BarChick’s favourite faces behind the bar. Think seriously creative cocktails from the team behind Shrub & Shutter and a late license that has a DJ playing you into the weekend. In our opinion – Absolutely Banging Concept. 56 Upper St, London N1 0NY Open now

Mr Fogg’s Society of Exploration

We know he’s a globe trotting adventurer, but bloody hell, that Mr Fogg gets around. Hot off the launch of House of Botanicals, this new bar has us boozing in a train carriage and reading a menu disguised as a journal. Did we mention you can help mix your own cocktails by pushing a button? Say what you will about old Fogg – he knows how to have fun.

1A Bedford St, London WC2E 9HH

Opening 14th September

Gunpowder

Pani Pani Margaritas with tamarind spiced water, Spicy venison and vermicelli doughnuts? Yup, Gunpowder sounds banging. This is the second Gunpowder to hit London, this time in Tower Bridge and we can’t wait to get our hands on the Indian inspired cocktails and street food. Peanut masala chaat with a Bow Barracks Gimlet? This is one fuse we’ll be lighting ASAP. 4 Duchess Walk, SE1 2SD

Old Compton Brasserie, Soho

A cocktail served in a faux-fur jacket flute? So Soho. Obviously this is the idea, as Old Compton Brasserie has opened on (you guessed it) Old Compton Street. We love anything by Talented Mr Fox Matt Whiley - here he’s created cocktails paying homage to Soho legends like Paul Raymond and Ronnie Scott. Get a dose of London history while getting stuck into their brasserie menu, surrounded by fancy art. Soho is BarChick’s spiritual home, so we’re trés excited. 36-38 Old Compton Street, Soho, London Opening 4th September

Ziggy’s at Hotel Café Royal

Embrace your love of both Bowie and cocktails when Ziggy’s lands at Café Royal. This is the spot where the face-painted legend retired his alter-ego Ziggy Stardust – pretty iconic, then. With cocktails inspired by "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars", this has awesome written all over it. And yes, there’s one called ‘Tiger’s on Vaseline.’ 10 Air St, Soho, London W1B 4DY Opening 20th September

Blacklock Shoreditch

£5 cocktails accompanied by platters of prime Cornish meat? Chop chop, we’re on our way. This is the complete vibe of Blacklock, who’ve made chops the star of the show. This third restaurant keeps the party going with favourites like their banging Sunday Roasts (they’ll give your mum’s a run for its money), plus Negronis, Old Fashioneds and Beefy Marys for a fiver. The ideal cocktails when you’re feeling carnivorous. 28-30 Rivington Street , London EC2A 3DZ Opening 24th September RedFarm Do you dim sum? Always yes. RedFarm’s been on our radar since we discovered it’s been rocking NYC for seven years. Now the dreamy dim sum is hitting London, and Covent Garden is the only place to get your Pac Man Shrimp Dumplings (it’s a thing, k?). Sip alongside cocktails like the Kill Some Thyme and Le Club Hot. Tails Cocktails Container …Or throw caution to the wind as you visit this double-height shipping container. Drinks served in bottles and on tap = faster cocktails = more chance to try them all in double quick time.

Brick Lane Yard

Bulleit Truck  Things we love about autumn – chunky knits. Woodland walks. Bacon appearing in cocktails. We’re gonna get into the October spirit with the Bulleit 10 Smokin Old Fashioned - Bulleit 10, smoky mustard syrup, paprika grilled Jackfruit, and cola glazed bacon rasher. Hell to the yes. Virgin Atlantic’s pop-up Clubhouse Always wondered about the perks of flying business class? See how the other half live and head to this pop-up Clubhouse. Date Updated: 03/11/2016

One of the coolest rooftops in London, with an ever-changing theme and a city jungle view. This time the rooftop WigWam has been transformed into a Viking stronghold – it’s a Nordic hideaway with a longboat and feasting hall along with fire pits, driftwood sculptures and a sh*tloads of drinking horns.. Designed by the production people at Fables (Secret Garden Party, Shambala etc) so you know it’s gonna be pretty epic. Get up there.
