Scooter Caffé

BARCHICK SAYS

Got a while to wait till your train leaves Waterloo? Or perhaps you just love Vespers! Whatever your reason, we say head down the road to Scooter. This place looks like a granny/train spotter/hoarders shed. Neon signs, old posters, fairy lights and of course an old school Northern line train map?!… Standard.

There's no menu, and some could say it’s more for tea and coffee than booze, but being open from 8.30am – 11pm in the week (midnight on Friday and Saturday) alcohol was always gonna have to feature. They’ve got a random selection of spirits on a shelf but I wouldn’t go asking for classic cocktails, maybe a vodka mixer - BarChick would stick to the bottled beers.

Here for lunch? Then get some cake and eat it… that’s pretty much all that’s on offer, although you are allowed to bring your lunch with you, as long as you take your rubbish. Deal.

If you’re here with your crew and it’s full upstairs then head down the spiral staircase, it’s surrounded by odd mementos of various forms of transport and there are plenty more cute seating areas. We're not sure what the music’s like later on but when BarChick headed here in the afternoon some ominous church music was playing… weirdly it worked but we’re sure that’s not the normal vibe in this joint.
