Rooftop raving is the dizziest way to soak up the heady heights of London’s skyline. Come rain or shine there ain’t nobody who doesn’t love a penthouse style p*ss up.

Queen of Hoxton  The one with all the pop ups The Queen of Hoxton rooftop transforms itself twice a year with a new awesome theme each time.   They're shaking off their winter coats and getting in a god-damned time machine to 2030 for 'Lost Vegas' - YUP Vegas baby, but in some kind of futuristic dystopian world and we're excited. A bar made from a busted up bus, boozy slush puppies - there's even a chapel just incase you get really lucky.  Rooftop opens: May  1-5 Curtain Road, London, EC2A 3JX Sushisamba The one that's got it all A high glamour affair smack bang in the centre of the business district. You’d be silly to expect anything other than chinos, spray tans and Ralph - no judgement from us, any friend of the bartenders at Sushisamba are a friend of ours. Situated on the 39th floor an uplit tree marks the spot. Eat Sushi, schmooze and try not to puke in the lift on the way down. Rooftop open: Year-round Heron Tower, 110 Bishopsgate, London, EC2N 4AY Sushisamba  Coq D’Argent Credit cards at the ready This is the perfect place to drag out a lunch meeting. Expect awesome views and be warned, it’s easy to do some damage to your credit card and your liver here. Get into the spirit of it and drink The Millionaire;  Plantation original dark rum, apricot brandy, Lillet Rouge, lime juice and touch of grenadine. If you go midweek you’ll be mingling with cigar drinking business people on Dom P - but everyone’s in a good mood on a roof terrace, so just enjoy. Rooftop open: Year-round 16 Kirby Street, London, EC1N 8TS  coq Shoreditch House Rooftop pool baby Pack your trunks and kiss a member to get in. This is converted East London warehouse is the ultimate daytime party place, but if you’re not a member you’ll need to play it cool (if in doubt, wear your sunglasses and keep them on). We drink the Dillionaire, because we like saying it, and like to eat at the outdoor BBQ. See you by the heated pool. Rooftop open: Year-round Ebor Street, London, E1 6AY shoreditch.house_2     The Boundary Start drinking at breakfast  Now this place is really, really cool. Bag yourself a sofa beneath the fairy lights and take in the ridiculous 360 degree views of London. Eat if you wanna, or just get hammered on Martini’s. The only, and we mean only, thing wrong with this place is that it shuts early (11pm) but the roof terrace is open all year round so it only serves as an excuse to start drinking at breakfast - that’s when you’ll find BarChick here. Spend the day getting your tan on and saunter off to another bar in Shoreditch come nightfall. Rooftop open: Year-round Redchurch Street 2-4 Boundary Street, Shoreditch, London, E2 7DD  Boundary rooftop - Long Table The Fox Craft beer pub on a roof An easy spot to pass by, The Fox has had a bit of a touch up and is worth a drop-in on your way up to the trendier lights of Dalston-Kingsland. Red checkered table cloths, fairy lights, picnic tables, decking and a well worked bunch of pot plants makes this place a bright and breezy hangout. They open at 4pm, perfect for an after work sunbathing sesh. Rooftop open: By May Bank Holiday 2016. 372 Kingsland Road, E8 4DA Dalston Roof Park The one that always has something going on BarChick went to a kick ass rave up here once...there’s always something going on at Dalston Roof Park, whether it’s a party, free film night or a pop-up restaurant. It's a £3 walk-in fee, but if you come back four times you can swap it for a 'Bootstrap Friendship Card' (gets you in free to un-ticketed events 'til the end of the year. Winning!) Rooftop open: 30th April 2016 at 3pm. Print House, 8 Ashwin St, E8 3DL dalston.roof.park Netil 360 This roof knows how to throw a party This rooftop is all about banging events and parties, so fill up your diary in advance and remember to buy a ticket first. It’s open from 10am, too, and in true East  London style the building also has ‘office and social space’, which translates to us as an opportunity to work our way through a pile of magazines, spritzer in hand. Now the venue’s got a permanent licence, so let’s celebrate. Rooftop opens: 1st April Netil House, London, E8 3RL  Netil-360 (1)   South Place Hotel – Angler Rooftop Terrace Chic City sun trap Hidden away in Moorgate’s South Place Hotel is the city’s secret sun trap. Order a No.69 cocktail - tequila, lime, agave and avocado straight up, then grab some terrace food bar snacks like the devilled whitebait and calamari. It’s attached to the Michelin star Angler restaurant but no worries, everyone’s welcome here. Rooftop opens: Year-round 3 South Place, London EC2M 2AF  southplace-hotel-terrace   Golden Bee Smack bang in Shoreditch You can't argue with a rooftop in the middle of Shoreditch that has a fire pit. Rooftop open: Year-round The Gun This pub is the stuff of legends. Kick back on a deckchair, grab a bev and check out that Thames view (it's not quite the white sandy beaches of Rio, but it'll do). Open: 26th May-30th September 27 Coldharbour, Docklands, London, E14 9NS Rio De Gun-Eiro, The Gun London

Aqua Killer cocktails and two terraces Ok, so the entrance to the Aqua building is shiny, but if Picklebacks taught us anything it’s that we should never judge a book by its cover. Keep your eye on the prize and catch the lift straight up to the fifth floor, where you’ll find the only roof terrace in the West End. Marios Schwab (fashion babes) has added some of his S/S15 inspiration to the one at kyoto... So if you’re looking for seats head through to doors and turn left past the black bull statue. Order a Pina Colada (can you taste the green tea?) and chill in the heaven above the hectic buzz of Regent Street. Rooftop opens: Year-round (weather permitting) 5th Floor, 240 Regent Street, London, Entrance on 30 Argyll Street, London, W1B 3BR aqua Vista at the Trafalgar Date spot  This terrace is open all year round (British weather permitting) which makes it perfect for a date, because everyone knows two tipsy people plus a blanket equals a good time. Order a bunch of cocktails from the rooftop bar, watch tourists fail to climb on the lions (actually hilarious) and remember, this place is a suntrap so wear as little as possible on sunny days. Best of all? It’s rarely as busy as it should be. Rooftop opens: Year-round 2 Spring Gardens, Trafalgar Square, London, SW1A 2TS vista.view.new Radio Glam vibes and a 180 degree view Make sure you wear something sparkly here - not only will you fit in with the glam crowd, but it’ll distract from the uncontrollable “OMFG!” reaction you’ll involuntarily experience when you see the 180 degree view. Be warned; there is a laser show most evenings (some light artist from Barcelona is in charge) but fingers crossed you’ll be too busy getting chatted up on the plush white sofas to care. Rooftop opens: Year-round 336-337 Strand, London, WC2R 0EZ  ME.London.Radio.View.v2.low   Le Meridien, Piccadilly The one with all the gin It isn’t exactly blessed with space, but The Terrace Bar & Grill at Meridien Hotel is the perfect spot to grab something to eat before chilling with a cocktail. It’s smack-bang in the middle of Piccadilly, so the view at this place  is like a tourist’s wet dream. Rooftop opens: Year-round 21 Piccadilly, London, W1J 0BH

Pergola On The Roof at Television Centre

Like you've been airdropped into the Mediterranean - it's an evergreen terrace of sexy summer fun. Think of it like an outdoor food court with style - there's four restaurants (Patty & Bun, Salt Yard, Rabbit and Le Coq) but you can sit wherever, so no worries if you and your mate disagree over who has the best buns. There's also two bars and 400 seats - so you won't struggle to nab a seat. Plus there's a roaming booze trolly to ensure you're well watered.

Rooftop opens: Thursday 26 May – Sunday 29 August 2016.

Rooftop opens: Year-round Kings Mall, Lyric Square (just off King Street), London W6 0QL   el.cantara.roof Broadway House Cocktails on a cigar terrace This place has two roof terraces, a rooftop bar, cocktail bar, outdoor cinema, BBQ, restaurant AND cigar terrace. Frank’s Cafe  The really f*cking cool one We’re yet to hear what’s in store for this unique multi-storey carpark bar, but judging by our experience last year it’s safe to say we’re pretty excited about heading back to Frank’s this summer. See ya’ll there. Rooftop opens: Sometime in May  95A Rye Lane, London, SE15 4ST Franks-Campari-Bar Rumpus Room Where the sexy people hang A rooftop bar with a terrace and a kick-ass view of the river? You had us at hello. OK the terrace is teeny but it’s ON The Thames so well worth squeezing on to.  This sky high joint at The Mondrian is giving us another reason to hit Southbank for a drink (Dandelyan had already stolen our hearts). Rooftop opens: March 2016 20 Upper Ground, London, SE1 9PD  Rumpus.Rooms.View The Bussey Building  The one with the cinema Didn't get in to Frank's? Don't sweat it, this place is just round the corner. You'll have to climb what feels like a thousand flights of stairs but it's worth it for the view. When you get in grab a table to your left - that's where the sights north of the river are at, and the skyline's beautiful. Rooftop opens: May 133 Rye Lane, Peckham, London, SE15 4ST No32 The Old Town The daytime hangout  They love a long table on the terrace at this place, so take your time and make sure you squeeze in next to a hottie. It’s in Clapham, so your cocktails will probably arrive with a side of toddler screams, but the staff have put effort into their drinks menu which features house syrups, sherberts and craft beer. Try everything and the daycare vibe won’t bother you. Rooftop opens: 32 The Pavement, SW4 0JE The Prince of Wales The party on a roof The POW is a local Brixton classic - you’ll get great tunes (Gilles Peterson and Norman Jay DJ here at the weekends), good people and you won’t have to queue long for a drink because this place has all the bars - the terrace alone has three.  This one’s also special because it’s a two storey situ, so you can have fun running up and down the place like it’s a playground for p*ssheads. There are different rooms blasting the bass - get lost all night and dress casual, you won’t stop dancing from the minute you get there. Get your tickets early, people. Rooftop open: keep an eye out for their parties! 469 Brixton Rd, London,  SW9 8HH  POW Queen Elizabeth Roof Gardens The riverside one It’s easy to miss this gem of a terrace among the street performers and crowds of tourists that congregate along the Southbank, but once it’s on your radar you’re guna feel really smug. This place is mainly about grabbing a few bottles of wine at the outdoor bar and arranging chairs in a semicircle with your mates so you can enjoy that riverside view, but they’ve got Pimms if you’re feeling patriotic. Expect to see couples snogging behind fruit trees and big groups of people taking to the floor when the chairs run out in the evenings. Rooftop open: Year-round Southbank Centre, Belvedere Rd, SE1 8XX   Oxo Tower Brasserie The one you can take your Mum to The South Bank is having its moment. Hit the Oxo Tower early to bag a seat on the terrace - we’re talking all the epic food served in the restaurant, killer cocktails and views straight out at that river. Come at night - we all know London’s at its best when lit up. Rooftop open: Year-round OXO Tower Wharf, Bargehouse St, London, SE1 9PH  OXO Tower

Get spendy downstairs before heading up the Art Deco building for a bottle of wine in the sun. Foodwise, expect everything at this contemporary cafe from a full English to a selection of tapas. A seriously cool daytime hangout. Alfies Antiques Market, 13-25 Church Street, London NW8 8DT Alfies.Rooftop.Kitchen.400x300 The Driver All day hanging out on top of a pub This huge 5-storey pub is a great place to take a bunch of mates, although the terrace itself is a little on the cosy side. There’s a waterfall and if you look up, 20 Frank Gehry fish lamps are casually chilling above the bar.  The bar is where you’ll find BarChick, tasting our way through their game-changing new cocktail menu. While you’re perched there, Xavier Landais is the guy you wanna look out for – he’s the Bar Director and is one of the genius brains behind this sustainable new menu. Yes, sustainable. A word you’re going to hearing a hell of a lot more of in bars over the next few years.  Sexy Fish are shifting into a zero waste movement and focusing on sustainability all without jeopardising the next-level quality that these kind of baller regulars expect. Tricky. Xavier and the team have been phasing out everything perishable (goodbye lemon, hello shrubs and tinctures) and have created a menu that’s both ultra-luxe and down-to-earth at the same time. The new shimmering turquoise menu reads more like a cocktail book than a drinks list. Plus the drinks all feature recipes, so you can make them at home. After sampling a few, you’ll be book marking your faves  (we’re plotting to make Ontario ice wine tea and Kaffir lime cordial at home). Better yet, you can buy it to take home – it’s only £15, which is less than a cocktail. It’s not just in London that things are kicking off – but this was a 3 cities at once affair with Singapore and New York launching the same day. Still with us? Good. We popped by to get the real scoop: what the drinks taste like. Spoiler alert: they’re brilliant. Neonach This drink knows how to introduce itself, hitting you full whack with the smell of sesame oil as soon as you go to take a sip. The taste delivers too: a big hit of gin with herbal notes of basil and fennel and, weirdly but wonderfully, salmon. What, you thought the sushi was just on the menu? If the thought of salmon in a drink makes you wince, trust us on this one – this drink is more a fresh hint of sashimi-esque flavour than a Monty Python slap around the face. Soupe Du Jour Pull the lid off your miso soup cup and get to know one of the most exciting drinks on the menu. It’s a brilliant play on the classic Japanese side soup, featuring Nikka from the Barrel whisky with hints of miso. As if that wasn’t trendy enough, there’s also a nod to Italian aperitivo here with bergamot led Italicus (your new favourite liqueur, thank us later), and Amer Picon. The honey and tropical tea syrup is the fruity cherry on top. Don’t miss this.   Monolith The glass this is served in looks like it’s about to give you the power of the black panther, and the drinks encapsulates that feeling with taste. Boom. There’ll be no forgetting you’re in Mayfair here honey - this cocktail looks, and tastes, like pure Bentley cruising, Russians on a yacht in Mykonos, luxury. It’s a shimmering pool of liquid gold full of Zacapa 23 rum, balsamic, chamomile, rosemary and lavender.  We’ve got a bet that this’ll become one of the most Instagrammed drinks in London.   Rocky Road Old Fashioned Skipped dessert? Good ‘cos this is the perfect drink to end off the evening. Buttered whisky (yes), a crunchy, textural biscuillate (double yes) and chocolate and salt (oh god. Yes) make this a dream in a glass. It slips down smooth and the salt makes sure it ain’t too sweet.: beware, this will ruin you for all other Old Fashioneds.   Words by Emma Cooke" ["post_title"]=> string(33) "Hot New Cocktail Menu : Sexy Fish" ["post_excerpt"]=> string(0) "" ["post_status"]=> string(7) "publish" ["comment_status"]=> string(6) "closed" ["ping_status"]=> string(6) "closed" ["post_password"]=> string(0) "" ["post_name"]=> string(34) "sexy-fish-london-new-cocktail-menu" ["to_ping"]=> string(0) "" ["pinged"]=> string(0) "" ["post_modified"]=> string(19) "2018-03-14 17:34:26" ["post_modified_gmt"]=> string(19) "2018-03-14 17:34:26" ["post_content_filtered"]=> string(0) "" ["post_parent"]=> int(0) ["guid"]=> string(32) "http://www.barchick.com/?p=59815" ["menu_order"]=> int(0) ["post_type"]=> string(4) "post" ["post_mime_type"]=> string(0) "" ["comment_count"]=> string(1) "0" ["filter"]=> string(3) "raw" } } ["post_count"]=> int(5) ["current_post"]=> int(-1) ["in_the_loop"]=> bool(false) ["post"]=> object(WP_Post)#1053 (24) { ["ID"]=> int(59849) ["post_author"]=> string(1) "4" ["post_date"]=> string(19) "2018-05-24 14:01:03" ["post_date_gmt"]=> string(19) "2018-05-24 13:01:03" ["post_content"]=> string(954) "We've kicked off our BarChick TV world tour with one of the coolest cities on the planet - Cape Town.  There might be some serious drought but this city is anything but dry when it comes to its bar scene.  Showing you the best bars, the people behind them and what to order when you're there, BarChick's wingman-ing you all the way around the world. Bartending hot shots Andy Mill, Elliot Ball and Olly Brading took things into their own hands with their independent, exciting and experimental cocktail bar hidden underneath Central & Co in Soho. Now they’ve brought the playhouse that’s all about crazy drinks, big tunes and making boozing fun – to Brick Lane, baby.

We’ve seen it all with these guys…we’re talking drinks served in wellies,  Chinese take-out boxes and graveyards. Seriously, miniature graveyards. The mix up insane drinks using smoked marshmallow syrup and have a laugh with party poppers, candyfloss and maple bacon noodles as garnishes and this place doesn’t disappoint. Dentures in your drink? You got it. You can’t go wrong bringing a hot date here, especially if you wanna test their fun game.  Perfect too for catching up with your crew, getting in some killer drinks before a big night or even to bring your Mumma if she knows how to have a good time.

They’ve gone all East London on the decor front; exposed brick, rustic stools and a killer back bar pimped up with rare spirits. There’ll always be a great vibe ‘cos these boys know how to bring the fun and if you get served by the red head Viking be sure to give his beard a stroke.

Good For

Take a date, Take your mates, Take your mum, Killer cocktails, Parties, Evening
