Over in Hackney (the less dodgy end) in a bright turquoise pub is London’s first raw seafood bar, with a killer cocktail menu to boot. Stylist Maggie Crow created the minimalist neighbourhood bar vibe and Brett Redman, award winning chef behind Elliot's in Borough Market, is the man behind the fishy menu - and it’s shucking good.
Thought the booze would be all about bubbles? Think again. You’ll find BarChick up at the seafood bar keeping it fresh with their herbal cocktails like the White Negroni or Shady Pines or knocking back an oyster shooter - lime, coriander, chilli and tequila is where this party is at.
But really you’re here for the oysters. This joint is also the first in London to bring in an oyster happy hour where you can slurp ‘em for £1 a pop from 5 til 6pm in the week and 3 til 6pm on Saturday. Shuck on that.
