The Roosevelt

BARCHICK SAYS

The Roosevelt Hotel is a West Hollywood institution, and the perfect place for day-to-night partying.

The poolside Tropicana Bar is where to be on those scorching hot LA days. Entry to the pool area is free, as long as you meet the minimum spend at the bar, which you’ll rack up in no time. Drinks ain’t cheap but they’re good, and you’ll be taking a dip with any number of famous faces, renting a poolside cabana to get wild. Even if you’re not in luck, the staff are worthy eye candy while you sunbathe, and at your beck and call when you’re thirsty. As the sun goes down and the DJs start cranking some tunes, grab another drink and get ready. Things get messy, especially at their infamous Sunday pool parties.

When you’ve had enough, get dressed and wander through to the Library Bar, a small, opulent room with an antiquate glass ceiling and dim lighting. There’s no menu here so give the bartender a few clues and let him work his magic. Try something with the chili-infused tequila or basil bourbon. It’s all very serious, but spot on.
