This unpretentious, darkly lit joint is a great tip to have up your sleeve when you want to escape the tourist crowds of Sunset Boulevard outside.

This isn't the type of place to blind you with flashy furnishings - it’s laidback, simple and to the point. The bar is the star of the show, though we hear the food is pretty good, too. The bartenders are super relaxed with a heavy pour, which must be why they have so many regulars. The Well is a neigbourhood watering hole, and with enough time they’ll know your name, your drink and when you want it.

One of the best things about it is the happy hour: USD 6 cocktails every day from 5pm to 9pm. Order a Rumba Punch, feed the jukebox a few quarters and shoot the sh*t with some hot Angelino locals.
