Julie Reiner, who gave us Manhattan’s Flatiron Lounge, has brought a little Pennsylvania soul to Cobble Hill. The vibe is speakeasy, but they’ve ditched the pretension. Grab a stool at the long 19th Century mahogany bar, or hole up in one of the booths and settle in for the long haul.

The cocktail list is divided into nine sections with everything from tiki to sours to massive punches to share with friends. The Brooklyn VIP made us feel pretty special with Brooklyn Gin, dry vermouth, Velvet Falernum, fino sherry, rose water and a dash of absinthe, but those punches certainly have their appeal as well.

Try to get seated behind the velvet curtain in the back where a second bar is nestled, with a fireplace, chandeliers and the kitchen. Oysters, deviled eggs, steak tartare and other classics will keep you sitting pretty all night long. They’ve got brunch covered too.
