BARCHICK SAYS

This Argentinean restaurant has gained a mega following for mind-blowing food, top-notch service and mouthwatering drinks. Grab a perch at the marble bar and make friends with one of the attentive (and damn fine) bartenders. They will walk you through their menu of amazing dishes like crab bruschetta with avocado and shiso if you’re looking for something light, or go for one of their signatures from The Grill like steak or fish.

The Grill (named Agnes after the chef’s mother; sweet) is a prominent feature in the long and narrow space, but with the huge windows by the bar it doesn’t feel imposing. They only do bookings for parties of six or more, so keep that in mind, but if you just want a drink and some nibbles then you should be able to get a spot just fine. We just had to get a taste of the Dirty Grandma Agnes (see a theme here?), a take on a Belvedere Martini with a pickle made by Agnes herself.

Looking for a more expansive cocktail list? Head to their cute little bar next door, The Whey Bar, which is Spanish slang for the “dumb ox,” but trust us, it’s anything but.
