Rickshaw Stop

BARCHICK SAYS

Once a former TV studio, Rickshaw Stop is a favorite band spot, showcasing all of next year’s top artists that you probably haven’t heard of yet. The main room has super high ceilings with massive red velvet curtains, comfy couches, a fully stocked bar and a few vintage rickshaws kicking about. Upstairs is a mezzanine, which is perfect for watching gigs from, along with another (much smaller) bar and games room, because what bar is complete without a Foosball table and Skeeball? Epic battles have been lost and won on these tables.

It’s an all ages venue, primarily 18+, so it makes for a very mixed crowd of college students and professionals, but everyone is super friendly under the mutual agreement that every day is a weekend. The classic drink here is the Big Ole, a pint glass of vodka and Red Bull – classy. The drinks are strong and cheap, as is the entry price for gigs, but check ahead to make sure the bigger acts aren’t sold out as on busy nights this place will have people lined up around the block. Its capacity is only 250 people, so it’s ideal to see bands and hang out with mates in a place where the goal is just to party and have fun.
