Morfar Ginko & Pappa Ray Ray

BARCHICK SAYS

This place has a brilliant case of multiple personalities. You may think Mortar Ginko is just a tiny bar when you first walk in, but the real action is further back where it opens up into a massive, high ceilinged, cement and tile warehouse with the ‘Baren’ sign glowing like a beacon.

Grab a bite to eat and some easy drinks, hang out and wait for them to randomly bust out a ping pong table, because why not. DJs do their thang above the bar, but it’s not quite mega party land. Don’t worry, that’s still coming.

Connected through a hallway, with its own front door, is Pappa Ray Ray. Prim and proper, rocking a totally different vibe, it specialises in cava and tapas, with cute little candlelit tables. Finally, you’re ready for things to get a bit wild, which is when you find the hidden den of sin through a fake wall. The music gets down and dirty and the drinks are flowing. Start your party / end your night here.
