BARCHICK SAYS

Oh my, if only BarChick could live here… and with hotel suites by Berns opening in the same building in 2014, it may happen yet. A well-heeled hop up from Birger Jarlsgatan or down from Stockholm’s business centre, as soon as you cross the threshold of this 19th century town house, you know you’ve found something special.

This place is beautiful and intoxicating. Currently boasting two bars and two dining rooms; antique maps, foreign fabrics, brass and mirrors decorate the bar areas and an adjoining dining room. Photographs of strange faces creeped BarChick out as she drank her Chocolate Cuban at the smaller bar, but we powered through anyway. Downstairs are some of the sexiest, most confusing loos we’ve ever seen… we’re still not entirely sure that we didn’t accidentally use the men’s, but whatevs.

Mingle with the after-work crowd and travellers who hit the booze early, and why wouldn’t they? The cocktails match the gorgeous setting and the rotating restaurant menu, which takes inspiration from different parts of the German-speaking world, is oh so good…
