BARCHICK SAYS

There’s something kinda 90's B-movie about this place. We don’t know if it’s the boomboxes on the walls, the Korean Terminator movie posters or the neon flashing signs. Or the fact someone whispered into our ear at the bar that we should follow them downstairs before promptly disappearing. Surely, that’s the start of a great B-movie? Right?

Anyway. Odd Seoul has taken that whole Korean trend thing and bashed it about with a big dose of Americana, so what you get is US junk with an Asian kick. It’s down and dirty and we like it, just like that. The cocktail list goes from soju to bourbon and back again - they put Chai tea-infused Crown Royal whisky into an Old Fashioned. Like putting yakitori in your poutine. Who doesn't? It's mega. Or order the fried rice with pork belly - it comes in a takeaway box and is better than most takeaways you've had.

It opened up late 2012, serving food as late as booze, and quickly became a favourite hang for chefs, bloggers and foodie hipsters, and then everyone. There’s talk of adding private karaoke rooms and a patio out back, so watch this space.
