Margaret DuChamp

BARCHICK SAYS

First up, this café-brasserie-bar is Venice’s ultimate people watching spot so go ALL Italian chic and wear big sunnies. If you wanna be in the hustle and bustle of street life then this bar, bang in the middle of Campo Santa Margherita, is the place. Margaret DuChamp is the most popular spot near to University so when school’s out the little metal tables sitting out in to the square become hot property. After dark the party moves up to the garden roof terrace ‘til the places eventually closes around 2am.

Margaret DuChamp is a popular hangout for lone travellers so if you’re looking to strike up convo with an American backpacker, practice your Italian with some students or just kick back with a traditional Spritz and a smoke then this is the place to do it.

With a Spritz con Prosecco (that’s a Venetian Aperol or Campari Spritz topped up with Italian bubbles) setting you back a mere 3 euros there’s no reason not to stop by for a apperitivo. At this price we say knock back 4 or 5, it’ll sure as hell liven up dinner.
