Ardbeg Half Marathon for National Brain Appeal

This is very close to our hearts, so please dig as deep as you can. Our very own sweet BarChick, Miss Hannah Grace-Lodge tragically lost her brother, Alan Lodge, aged 29, to a brain haemorrhage last year. Alan, aside from being totally awesome and all round joker (as well as being a huge fan of BarChick of course) worked for The Spirits Business and was an avid lover of Ardbeg.

The wonderful lot over at Ardbeg loved him almost as much as BarChick did so this year they are sponsoring the annual Islay Half Marathon and will be raising money for the National Brain Appeal in memory of Alan.

Many of Alan’s Spirits Business colleagues and fellow industry drinks writers have gamely put on their trainers and have been training hard to tackle the 13.1 miles of gruelling and unforgiving Inner Hebridean terrain. Over 20 runners will be taking part, with various levels of fitness and experience, and all of them need your support to make it over that finishing line and raise a dram of Scotch in memory of their great friend Alan, an industry legend.

They are aiming to raise £3,000, please help them to sail over their target. It is a gruelling race for them (those who drink for a living don't necessarily make great runners…) and all you have to do to show your love is type in a few numbers, it’s that easy.

Please support them and this epic thing that they're doing for Alan, and our own BarChick Hannah and her family, by donating here.

Us BarChicks will be raising a dram of Ardbeg to the lot of them, as well to Alan of course, next weekend. GO TEAM.
