Come December, unless you are a total Scrooge, you've gotta get embracing all this Christmas cheer. That means embracing the cocktails that come with it too - as it's not just wine that BarChick looks forward to with her mistletoe. This is no time for your standard "pint of", or a some fruity Pina Colada number, its time to get your festive freak on with these winter warming cocktails. If you make it through the whole list then you win Christmas, simple. The Bar at The Dorchester – The Gingerbread Man This is a good excuse to eat a gingerbread man as an adult. Made with Janneau VSOP, Pain d’epices liquer, pasteurised egg yolk, a piece of fresh ginger and a sprinkle of nutmeg, it’s bursting with festive flavours. Gobble down the little man then enjoy the cocktail. Served chilled or warm – the choice is yours! 53 Park Lane, London, W1K 1QA XMAS..GINGERBREAD.MAN The Riding House Café – Deck the Stalls & In a Pear Tree Our favourite stable in London. It’s time to Deck the Stalls, made with bourbon, chestnut liqueur, crème de cacao dark, mint, bitters, cranberries and garnished with a sprig of mint and a dusting of icing sugar, or (fill in the missing word) In a Pear with sloe gin, spiced pear syrup, lime, ginger ale and garnished with cinnamon and a pear wedge. 43-51 Great Titchfield Street, London W1W 7PQ Duck & Waffle – Mulled Swine & Milky Bar Snowball Get high and take down some of their winter creations. The Mulled Swine is made with festive claret, piggy brandy, seasonal spices and maple syrup. Or go for the Milky Bar Snowball with vodka, distilled lemon, milky bar advocaat, frankincense and egg white. Christmas in the clouds. Heron Tower, 110 Bishopsgate, London, EC2N 4AY XMAS..MILKYBAR.SNOWBALL Village East – The Spiced Fizz These guys have been getting experimental with carbonised cocktails and have made a Christmassy one, The All Spiced Fizz is made with Bulleit rye whisky, all-spice syrup, cinnamon syrup, cranberry and lemon. Cheers! 171-173 Bermondsey Street, London SW1 3UW The Lido Café – Bad Santa Boozing and breaststroke – perfect. If you need warming up then go for a Hot Toddy, mulled wine or a Dirty Chai Toddy, but we’re going crazy for the Bad Santa. It’s a warm mince pie served with a ball of salted caramel ice cream on top, alongside a Mince Pie White Russian. The vodka is infused with spices and candied fruit and it’s delicious. We not Scrooges but we’ll gladly drink in his honour. It has been given a makeover by Liberty and it's looking so fabulously festive it hurts. The St Nic’s Tipple is made with brandy, port and maple syrup and when mixed together it has notes of toffee and toasted almond. Garnished with mint and cranberries, it’s Christmas in a glass. 28 – 32 St Martin’s Court, London, WC2N 4AL Bam Bou - Blizzard Retreat  A fiery Hot Toddy is exactly what you need this time of year, and this one's spot on. It's made with hot whisky, coffee liqueur, toasted coconut, nutmeg and aromatic bitters. One will not be enough. 1 Percy Street, London, W1T 1DB  Maze – Christmas Martini & Mrs Claus Martini This Michelin-starred restaurant has whipped up some festive tipples. Get stuck into a Christmas Martini made with Maze Christmas vodka, amaretto, gingerbread syrup and served with orange zest and a candy cane. Or try a Mrs Claus Martini with Chambord, Kahlua and served with an edible glitter snowflake. 10-13 Grosvenor Square, London, W1K 6JP XMAS..MAZE The Alchemist – Chocolate Orange Sazerac This sounds pretty dreamy, it’s made with bourbon, cognac and Cointreau for the orange twist and chocolate cookie syrup, and is the only Sazerac we want this Christmas. 6 Bevis Marks, London, EC3A 7HL Gong – The Nutcracker No, The Shard isn’t putting on a ballet performance – that we know of – but it is making a Christmas cocktail in honour of it. It’s a spice-infused cocktail of Scotch whisky, Pedro Ximenez sherry, a hint of French herbal liqueur, Dom Benedictine and pimento dram that guarantees to have you pirouetting. Good question! Basically it’s like the most delicious hot chocolate known to man. It’s a mixture of tequila, mescal, chipotle and pure cacao drizzled over golden nuggets. It will warm you up and give you a festive kick, two birds, one stone.
