Domaine De Canton Bartender Of The Year 2014

It’s that Domaine De Canton time of year again!

The deal is pretty sweet and straightforward. Get yourself over to their site, hand over your details and enter a winning Domaine De Canton cocktail recipe. There’s the chance to gain bonus points by accompanying your application with a video of your winning cocktail, everyone loves a YouTube vid so get your camcorder out, get creative and get it viral!

One finalist will then be selected from each of the following regions: East Coast United States, West Coast United States, Midwest United States, Puerto Rico, Australia, Canada, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Spain and The United Kingdom. From all the other countries that are not listed above, one finalist will be chosen out of the whole lot.

Those finalists will then make it over to the French West Indies where they will compete for the chance to win big bucks. $10,000 to be exact.

BarChick went down to judge the Uk final alongside Dan Priseman (Nola) and George Frost (Westbourne Drinks Company). After some amazing drinks Will Cox from Bon Vivant, Edinburgh won with Joey Medrington, London Cocktail Club closely behind and Jamie Jones in third. Check out their drinks below!

  • 35ml Domaine de Canton
  • 40ml unaged Mezcal
  • 25ml Earl Grey Tea
  • 2 dashes of grapefruit bitters

  • 30ml Domaine De Canton
  • 20ml Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
  • 1 cherry tomato
  • 15ml lemon juice
  • 5ml gomme syrup
  • 10 Vichy Catalan sparkling water

 

Garnish: cherry tomato on a spike

Muddle cherry tomato. Shake first 5 ingredients.  Strain in to cocktail glass.  Top with Vichy Catalan.

  • 5ml AquaRiva agave syrup
  • 50ml Domaine De Canton
  • 20 ml Chase Rhubarb Vodka
  • 5ml white balsamic vinegar
  • 20ml water

 

Shake with ice and serve with grated nutmeg on top, on crushed ginger biscuit sand.
