There's an Espresso Martini Festival in London This Weekend

The Espresso Martini Festival has returned and we’re all kinds of excited.

Have we ever bean so excited? An actual Espresso Martini Festival has rolled into town. For the second year running, Mr Black and DrinkUp London are hosting a celebration of coffee culture - in its booziest form. Get ready to shake it, baby.

100 bars around London are offering a variation of this classic, for the blinding price of £6. The Espresso Martini was created in Soho by the legend Dick Bradsell at the request of an A list model who demanded a drink that would “wake me up and f*ck me up”. Epic. Read all about it here.  But it's not just EM’s that’s being poured all over the city. Each bar has created an exclusive caffeine cocktail using Mr Black Coffee Liqueur, with saucy sidekick Belvedere as the vodka of the event.

The Church Of Coffee

This year Mr Black have brought the java jamboree with a dedicated pop-up space. Head to The Church of Coffee at The Old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch (where else) for insane drinks, Aussie food, masterclasses and workshops. You’ll find BarChick flexing her creative muscles at Belvedere's Espresso Art-Ini masterclass, followed by some donut decoration with Doughnut Time. If only A-Level art was this fun. Plus The Church of Coffee has London’s first cold-brew pop-up bar. Hallelujah.

If you’re keen for the bean, this is the opportunity to smash down some fine coffee serves at bars that include Little Bat, Powderkeg, hot newbie Bar Hercules, Sager + Wilde, LCC, Basement Sate, and many more.

100 bars, 4 days… that’s a lot of Espresso Martinis to get through. But hey, it’s not like you’ll be sleeping, is it?
