Pinkies out for this one, gang - 'cos we about to get fancy. There are a few things that should be on your London bucket list, and Afternoon Tea at the Savoy is one of them. But hey, we're a few months off making that a reality, and we need a fix of that sugared luxury now. Ding dong! Savoy At Home is now bringing the goods, all in a presentation box designed to replicate The Savoy itself. That's some bouji details we're here for, sweet thing. This pretty box contains all the staples: sandwiches, handmade afternoon tea pastries and sweet treats, scones and their Jing Assam Tea. This is one you'll wanna share with ya mama.
The Savoy At Home afternoon tea starts ar £130 for two, available for collection or delivery within a 12-mile radius from the hotel.
Keep ya sky-high views. We're here for the sugar high, honey. Oblix’s at-home take on the classic Afternoon Tea is what your lockdown weekends are calling out for. Set up a table by your window and pair the (optional but advised) bottle of Billecart-Salmon Brut Réserve Champagne with Oblix's ultra-luxe sarnies packed with bad-ass fillings like Wagyu beef & horseradish and lobster mayonnaise, free-range egg & truffle. Then get your sweet fix with their mini Mandarin and sherry cheesecakes, Madagascan vanilla choux and Lemon macarons. Warning: you're gonna struggle to go back to your lunch of a Sports Direct mug of builders tea and a choccy digestive on Monday.
Oblix’s Afternoon Tea is available to order Friday-Sunday, priced at £75 for two or £115 to include a bottle of Billecart-Salmon Brut Reserve, and can be delivered within a 6 mile radius of Zuma Knightsbridge.
They do things the right way at Browns Hotel, and have been for years. That hasn't stopped just cos the doors are closed. They know how to celebrate a special occasion, and they're bringing the party into your crib every Friday with delivery or collection of their traditional afternoon tea. Oh my! The classic offering (which can be given the vegan and vegetarian treatment if that's your thing) includes hand-cut sandwiches with the best of seasonal fillings, elegant pastries and plain or orange zest and cranberry scones with all the classic accoutrement. For the record: clotted cream goes on first and we're willing to die on this hill. Wash it down with Brown's blend or Earl Grey tea, or hey, if you're celebrating (it's the weekend) upgrade to a bottle of Ruinart NV champagne.
Traditional Afternoon Tea £40 per person served with a choice of our Brown’s afternoon tea blend or Earl Grey or £57 per person served with half bottle of Ruinart NV for two.
Maybe you don't have a plush bubblegum pink dining room, walls covered with David Shrigley art or an egg-shaped toilet that speaks to you... but you can have sketch’s afternoon tea delivered to your door, and that's the next best thing to an afternoon spent in their famously pink Gallery restaurant. Packaged in a suitably powder pink box (of course), the MMmm… Afternoon Tea arrives with a selection of fabulous finger sandwiches, petits gateaux, a choice of sultana or plain scones with jam, and wedges of Victoria sponge cake and cranberry Battenberg. Oh mama. You have the option to add a bottle of bubbles to your order, or be like BarChick and opt for one of their cocktails - we like the sound of the Naked & Famous made with Verde Momento mezcal, Aperol, Yellow Chartreuse, lime sour. Smokey!
MMmm… Afternoon Tea starts from £49 and can cater to most dietary requirements.
The evenings are getting longer and there's light at the end of the lockdown tunnel. Time to go Ham Yard on the cakes, gang. This Soho hotel knows how to put on a hella good spread, and they've also cracked boxing the lot up and getting it transported to your digs so you can enjoy that sugar rush and crash from the same sofa. Think delicious finger sarnies and wicked savouries (tomato arancini and sausage rolls, anyone?) and delectable cakes like a juicy plum and hazelnut Bakewell, all washed down with a Sipsmith Hot Mulled Sloe (think mulled wine, but made with Sipsmith Sloe gin and mulled cloudy apple juice. Earl Grey, who?)
Available to most Central London postcodes throughout March 2021 priced at £40pp. Special Mother's Day Tea available on Sunday 14th March
He might not have come out and said it in one of Boris' briefings, but we're pretty sure Chris Whitty would agree that until the pandemic is over, we can all channel some Peter Pan vibes and put ageing on hold. That's right, we're not getting any older, which means extra time to revel in the joys of youth... and that means getting on the cakes with the afternoon tea delivery from Aqua Shard. They've taken inspo from the ageless classic of Peter Pan in Neverland and designed a sweet feast for two. The box contains a savoury selection which includes ‘Codfish’ Captain Hook (deep-fried cod brandade with red breadcrumbs) alongside finger sandwiches, scones with apple jam and coconut clotted cream, plus sweet treats such as lime green Victoria cake with coconut and fondant icing. Of course, being an actual grown-up means you can opt for the Champagne option... silver linings, baby!
This Peter Pan Afternoon Tea for 2 is priced at £85 (add a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Champagne for £28) available for delivery anywhere within the M25
