October 2016 Agenda: Oktoberfest, A Rum Festival & A Whisky Pop Up

It’s officially Autumn but things in London are looking hot. London Cocktail Week's back for seven days of fun and killer booze; BarChick's throwing a tequila party and National Vodka Day is on the 4th, giving you an excuse to drink Vespers all day. Rum gets a good go too ‘cos Rum Experience Week and RumFest are kicking off before we dust off our zombie threads for motherf*cking Halloween… October, come at us. 1. Britain's Smallest Pub Time to cosy up in this microscopic pub, made by Meantime Brewing along with six clever UK craftsmen. The 'Make Time For It' pop up bar measures 6ft by 8ft – smaller than a snooker table - that's f*cking small. That means space for just two people - so maybe a biiiit awkward for that first Tinder date. There'll be free Meantime beer though in exchange for leaving your phone at the door - digital detox baby! Every bit of this pub/shed has been hand-made in the UK, from the wallpaper to the beer glasses, pub signs and bar stools. Book yourself a spot here.  Open until 30th October 2016. 12pm - 9pm daily The Gateway Pavilions, Peninsula Square, London SE10 0SQ meantime-tiny-pub 2. The Epicurean Artisanal Drinks' Festival The London Wine Fair crew are bringing you a weekend of artisanal drinks - wines, beers, spirits from the likes of East London Liquor Company and Wildcard Brewery. They'll also be food on hand from the legendary Rib Man, Street-Eats and others. EPIC INDEED. The Truman Brewery // Tickets £25, includes entry and samples at all stalls - get them here   3. The Blend  What could be more awesome than drinking drams of whisky in this slick new whisky bar pop up? Drinking drams of your very own blended whisky there, that’s what. Chivas Regal is launching The Blend at the Truman Brewery on the 3rd October and it’s going to keep you warm all winter ‘cos it’s staying put right through ’til 4th December. (Did someone say early work Christmas do?). Geek out learning about the heritage, history and origins of whiskies and if you’re less of a listener and more of a drinker then you’re all good too because you’ll be tasting your way through examples from Speyside, Islay, the Highlands and Lowlands as well as delicate grain Scotch whisky. You’ll be taught by the pros how these are ‘blended’ to create the distinctive Chivas Regal house style and then it’s over to you maestro for ‘Art of Blending’ session where you’ll get to blend your own to take home, or to send to BarChick, whatever. One hour ‘Art of Blending’ experiences start at £22. Get your tickets here!
