It’s a subject BarChick has often mused – which rum is the fairest of them all? Hold onto your cocktail umbrella, you’re about to find out. Wednesday 5th sees the start of London’s first ‘Rum Off’ competition at 70’s inspired bar Bobby Fitzpatrick. Fighting it out in the first round is Havana Club, The Real McCoy, Gosling's and Skipper rums. There’s gonna be tension, excitement, and more rum than a pirate convention in a Tiki bar.
Salmon bagels, Bloody Marys, and belting out numbers from The Bodyguard? Brunch = made. Roll with your karaoke-loving crew for an afternoon of musical mayhem at Studio 88, London’s only audience-requested live music venue. Banging breakfast foods, bottomless booze, and enough theatrical tunes to make Andrew Lloyd Webber wince. Ideal for anyone who’s ever fancied themselves as a secret stage star.
Forget 80’s shell suits and dodgy hairstyles. Unlike your childhood snaps these throwbacks are cool AF. Head to 100 Wardour for the hottest R’n’B, Pop and Indie music from the nineties and noughties.. Don’t miss DJ legend Trevor Nelson taking to the decks on 20th September. Nostalgia overload.
Fancy popping to Venice, but not sure your credit card’s on the same page? Swing by POLPO instead. They’ve teamed with Sipsmith to bring gin fans a limited edition cocktail menu – think Negronis and Sloe & Amaretto Sours. From 9pm ALSO get complimentary cicchètti when ordering two of these bad boys. Cost-effective and actually good for your wallet, no?
BarChick enjoys feeling cultured. Even MORE so with a cocktail in hand. Join us in getting arty with Campari’s new installation, The Mostra. Feeling like we’re in a constantly moving environment of shifting light is usually something that comes the morning after. But here the idea is to feel like you’re INSIDE a Campari cocktail, whilst drinking a Campari cocktail. If that’s not meta, we don’t know what the f*ck is.
