Shake Rattle and Stir Gin Journey

If you like gin, wicked bars and hanging out with a new crew then this will be right up your street (or Gin Lane…). Take yourself on a little gin journey and meet Gin’s answer to Willy Wonka, the charming Leon Dalloway, the very blue eyed boy behind Shake, Rattle and Stir. Hop aboard his pimping bus (he won’t be driving) and spend an evening ginning!

On our tour we gathered at The City of London Distillery Bar (aka COLD if ya local), we met our partners in gin crime and kicked things off with a damn good Dutch Collins made with Bols Genever Gin and an interesting talk from Leon (ladies, you'll LOVE). Then in some kind of rock star style, it was back on the bus and away to our next gig, The Blind Pig, one of Soho’s most epic offerings. Presented with a sample of Hayman's Sloe Gin and a delicious Charles' Marvellous Medicine cocktail served in an apothecary bottle, Leon once again did his gin thang while we sipped and attempted to answer his questions (do pay attention, he’s got deep pockets full of gin for winners, way better than a sticker).

Then it was back on the bus and over to Shoreditch and The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town, seeing everyone’s jaws drop as the Smeg fridge swings open never fails to amuse. More gin in the form of Sloane's, some food (wise) and plenty of chat before we were whisked off to Worship Street Whistling Shop. This elegantly styled gin palace is the perfect place to sink some more libations, a Mother’s Ruin in this case made with Martin Miller's Gin, and learn about gin in their in-house lab; this is where you get geeky, check.

Then the final stop was… The Looking Glass, cool bar out front but push back that mirror and you’ll enter a secret world of drinking and debauchery (or whatever you make of it). Final gin, courtesy of Dodd's, final cocktail, a Battersea Negroni in this case and a lot of lounging around on sofas with newfound lovers/lesbians under a hazy gin influence.

The gin is artisan and interesting, the bars some of the best and Leon… well you’ll have to go check him out for yourself.

£50 pp includes five cocktails and five gin tastings in five different bars. NB. Tours always change to keep you on your toes. DO IT.
