Come Sunday 2nd June, Dean Street’s big dogs, like the Dean Street Townhouse, Quo Vadis and The Groucho Club will have to step aside… there’s a flea market in town. The historic street will be closed to traffic and hopefully basked in sunshine as the day kicks off in aid of the children’s charity Kids Company. Last year tens of thousands graced the event, testament to its success and appeal, do it people.
Shop, dance, drink, eat, laugh… the perfect Sunday. Stages will be taken over by bands, musicians and comedians, and the streets will be lined with people showcasing their various offerings. Art from artists, jewellery from designers, clothes from designers (both vintage and new), glass from blowers, furniture from makers, make up from artists and so much more. If you’re in the market for presents, forget Oxford Street, this is the place to get ‘em.
Made in Chelsea fan? Well you're in luck because Caggie Dunlop and Oli Proudlock will be hosting their very own fashion stall, dah-ling.
Hungry? There's four food stalls on offer: Speck Mobile serving Austrian deli delights, Spit & Roast (cheeky) with spit roasted chickens, Meringue Girls serving meringues (naturally) and Gelupo, our favourite ice-cream shop.
And when you need a serious drink, just head into one of Dean Street’s many amazing joints.
We'll see you there.
