September 2016 Agenda: Rooftop Gin, Oktoberfest East & Alfresco Cinema

A 3 day meat festival, pop up gin terraces ('cos the sun's still hanging around) and a rival Rio carnival in Hackney... September's got to be one of the best months of the year. Go all out. 1. Oktoberfest East Bottomless beer and one hell of a party takes over Oval Space for 10 days, kicking off at the end of September. Here you can get hold of Hacker-Pschorr’s - one of the few beers served in the Oktoberfest tents - along with those legendary stein glasses. Virtual Reality Beer Drinking (techy sh*t) Beer is getting well 21st century nowadays. Now you can sip on a beer and at the same time be digitally whisked onto a beaute Scottish beach - Brewhouse Kitchen bars in Highbury & Islington are the first to kick off this high techy drinking experience. Brewers Innis & Gunn say it'll enhance the flavour of your beer, whatevs - it deffo beats staring at a peeling old man pub wall. Torrens St, London EC1V 1NQ 3. The Rooftop Film Club  If you haven't hit the roof with these guys yet, yet then you'd better get a move on. This year's five venues; The Queen of Hoxton in Shoreditch, The Bussey Building in Peckham, Roof East in Stratford and The Roof Gardens in Kensington and Tobacco Dock in Shadwell have been serving hot pizza to guests chilling under blankets and watching classics including Grease (never gets boring), Purple Rain and Dirty Dancing. The Slider Decider If you love juicy stuff in a bun, this one's for you. 17 badass chefs will battle it out by bashing out their best sliders. And you can go along and try (them all if you're that hardcore/greedy). Anyone who goes along can vote, and the winner will be crowned on the night. Chefs from the likes of Hixter, Jose Pizarro and hot new place Cha Chaan Teng are all taking part, so you know it's gunna be good. Boozy Weekend Ramen at Bone Daddies Insta dude Clerkenwell Boy has teamed up with Bone Daddies Old Street to launch a limited edition weekend feast #BoozyWeekendRamen.  The first 50 people through the door on Saturdays and Sundays can order this special bowl of cheesy broth with Tokyo style wavy ramen, oozy eggs and grilled pork belly. Alongside it comes a DIY kimchi bloody mary with maple bacon crumb. Hell yeah.


7. The Festival of Heat Things are getting hot in Shoreditch at London’s chilli festival as it’s set to blow festivalgoers’ socks off for a fourth year. Bringing together talent and sh*t hot chilli legends like our mate at World of Zing, there'll be masterclasses, workshops, demos on how to make a good curry and how to grow the perfect chilli. It’s time to spice things up. Popping up in a car park every Saturday, you'll find street food, live music, and loads of booze here until 12am. Gin tasting on a rooftop Spirited Sessions are booze tastings on a rooftop, this September on Roof East it's all about gin. Kick off with some rare and locally made gins, along with a lil' history lesson on the stuff. Finish off mixing up a martini - this one's a date night winner. Get tickets here.
