London Cocktail Week is like Fashion Week for us BarChicks, all the latest trends, the hottest faces, the best parties and the late nights; it’s awesome. The good thing about Cocktail Week is that the parties are easier to get into and the booze doesn't taste dodgy, win win. Here are our pick of the ten things not to miss this cocktail week. BarChick, CocoFace and Ocho Tequila Party  Bear Gallery , 8A Great Eastern St, London , EC2A 3NT// Thurs October 8th BarChick knows how to have a good time and this year we're teaming up with CocoFace and Ocho Tequila to throw the mother of all parties. It's a tenner and you get two cocktails, free Hobo beer, good tunes and great company. This is what you call a no-brainer. Now all you need is a ticket. The Brass & Crimson  Basement Bar at 'SMITHS', Spitalfields, 109 Commercial Street, London, E1 6BG We’re all over the idea of this basement bar below ‘SMITHS’, Spitafields that’s set to be a 1960’s New York style hangout: think Rat Pack, smoky jazz style music, classic drinks and 1am late licence.  Go get stuck into Rusty Nail cocktails; they’re strong, made with Drambuie and Scotch with a lemon twist... just our kinda tipple. Maybe you’re up for geeking out a bit? Book into their masterclass with the Drambuie Global Ambassador and New York bar Employees Only owner, Dev Johnson - these guys have bar secrets and cocktail stories coming out of their ears! One of the two places where you can pick them up is here alongside a free bar guide to get you going. Usually full of market and food stall holders, they’ve completely taken it over and filled it with pop up trucks, bicycles and vans all serving cocktails at £5 a pop. Buffalo Bourbon Empire Buffalo Bourbon Empire, 1 Kingsland Road , London, E2 8AA We always like to party with Buffalo Trace and boy do they know how to have a good LCW. This year their pop up is back and will aim to replicate the vibe of the Buffalo Trace Distillery! There will be cocktails with character including the “Don’t Mug Yourself” , performances from hilarious duo “The Thinking Drinkers” (£5), a Classic Cocktail Masterclass (£5) and a free Bourbon Masterclass that will take you through whiskeys from the most awarded distillery in the world. There will also be the chance to taste some of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, not only is this collection hard to find but it’s one of the most delicious and respected in the whisky world. You’ll find it on the mezzanine overlooking the LCW hub in Old Spitafields market (see above). There’ll be live DJ sets, Angostura cocktails, masterclasses and their very own Brand Ambassador as your house party host. Friday night is the big one if you’re keen to kick start your LCW weekend with a party…. Angostura_Event 24 Hour Bar Build N&C Showrooms, 3-10 Shoreditch High Street, London, E1 6PG Bringing together four bar teams from four different cities to build four bars in under 24 hours; this is one of the most exciting competitions to hit London Cocktail Week… ever! Sure the chosen bartenders know how to make a good drink but their test will be to design a cocktail space, build it AND invent a cocktail list. Each team will be inspired by one of the following spirits; Patrón Tequila, GREY GOOSE® vodka, BACARDI® rum and BOMBAY SAPPHIRE® gin. The teams are from Singapore’s Cufflink Club, London’s Duck and Waffle, New Yorks Nomad Hotel Bar and Paris’s Candelaria. Alongside a panel of judges the public can also vote for their winner so make sure you get involved! World Class London Cocktail Week Hub 51 Poland Street, 51 Poland St, London W1F 7LZ The most central spot for you to pick up your wristband is the World Class London Cocktail Week Hub on Poland Street. The Vinyl Factory will be all things LCW for the whole week. Not only will you be able to pick up or buy your £10 wristbands there but they’ve got some experiences to get you in the LCW mood. Make sure you check out the Tanqueray No. TEN Art Deco bar where you can shake up your own French 75 Martini. The Ketel One Vodka Kitchen is where to head for a vodka soda or if Negroni’s are your thing then the Haig Club Dining Room will teach you how to make your own. World.Class.Bar.4 Oriole Pop-Up With 86 Co Spirits and Gin Mare Bear Gallery, 8A Great Eastern St, London, EC2A 3NT So if you’re behind on the bar news then the forever booked up and legendary cocktail hangout Nightjar have a new bar on its way! This tasting session, brought to you by the Nightjar crew along with 86 Co Spirits and Gin Mare, will showcase four cocktails from the first menu of their new bar Oriole and will be an insight on what’s to come even before BarChick knows! £20 more than well spent in our eyes… Toast of Paris Looking Glass Cocktail Club, 49 Hackney Rd, London, E2 7NX One to book a ticket for! Courvoisier are bringing back the Belle Epoque era and the decadence of the Paris Golden Age. Tickets include a free cocktail at The Looking Glass Cocktail Club, a show from two of London’s top bartenders and live music from the “Midnight in Paris” Lounge. Indulge in Courvoisier cocktails all night and if you’re nice you might get your hands on a goody bag. Courvoisie New London Craft Gins @ Merchant House (12.30pm or 1.30pm) 13 Well Court, London EC4M 9DN Slack off your lunchtime gym sesh for a one off talk at Merchant House where their cocktail team alongisde author Ian Buxton will tell all about how gins are reviving London’s distilling tradition. For the £15 ticket you get a lunch time gin sharpener and a copy of Ian’s latest book, 101 Gins to Try Before you Die (RRP £12.99). Sold! DIY Classic Cocktail Class The Jones Family Project, 78 Great Eastern St, London, EC2A 3JL Even BarChick sometimes finds it hard to fix up a classic cocktail at her home bar which is why this masterclass is just what we need. Total dude/don/babe Rico, Absolut’s Brand Ambassador will take you through everything you need to know about making your favourite cocktail. It’s a bargain at £5 a class (Rico knows his sh*t) and includes a cocktail and the drinks you make! Elyx.bottle.and.jigger.Medium Ocho Tequila Vintage Tasting with Tomas Estes  Bear Gallery, 8A Great Eastern St, London, EC2A 3NT// 08.09.2015// 4 - 6pm We like our tequila and we’re slightly in love with Tomas Estes who will present this tasting on his own very well respected brand OchoTequila. If you want stories this guy’s got ‘em! He also claims the title of Tequila Ambassador for Europe which tells you a bit about how much knowledge he has on the subject. Peroni Nastro Azzurro Traders Market, 16 Horner Square, Spitalfields, London E1 6EW The only beer on site is these guys so if you're looking for a fix head on over to the Peroni bar! They'll also be mixing up some Peroni Nastro Azzurro-infused cocktails too, created by mega mixologist Simone Caporale. You'll be able to try two of the Peroni Nastro Azzuro infusions from the previous House and a preview of one to come in the next Residency (October 29th). Not only are these cocktails beautiful but they're also damn tasty... if you're in the market don't miss them for a fiver!   P.S.
