Mexican madness, our favourite. It was love at first sight with this joint. Secretly camouflaged behind an unassuming entrance, look out for numbers and a bouncer, and listen out for a rocking house party. On BarChick’s visit it was jumping; a birthday girl (yeah right!) enjoying free shots was dancing on the bar, the music was booming and the Margaritas flowing.
If you are a tequila head, you will be in heaven; even BarChick was silenced by the bottles on offer, and that takes a lot. There’s heaps of tequila blanco, reposado and anejo to choose from, as well as tequila flights… the only way to travel. Get stuck into the Margaritas, which are rumoured to be the best in Dublin, BarChick can now confirm these rumours to be true.
Rocking bar by night, wicked Mexican diner by day. Slide into a booth amongst cadges of booze (check yourself out in the mirrors as you do) and take in the multi-coloured tables, checked floor and tiled car behind the bar. There’s more delicious Mexican food than you can shake a stick at; get stuck into oyster shots, chorizo taquitos and costillas, and if you’re suffering from the previous night, wash it all down with a Michelada. Goodbye hangover.
“I love you 1,000 times” is in lights behind the bar, thank you 7,7,7, right back at you.
