Ask any local their top ten bars and Das Hotel will undoubtedly make the cut, this place is a bit of a neighbourhood favourite. Reasonably small and intimate, it breathes romance. maybe it's the candles, the flower power, the cute layout or the unisex loos but something about this place gets BarChick in the mood for lurve.

As you enter you’ll see an unofficial looking bar straight ahead of you with a small number of tables in front of it, to the right of it another area with more of a speakeasy vibe and behind it a rustic-looking room with a relaxed ambiance. Flit between all three unless you’re lucky enough to get a table, in which case, don’t let it go. Fall in love with the low lighting, handwritten notes on the wall and the hot Spanish bar staff who don’t really speak German (we’re not sure why).

When it comes to tipples here you’ll want to get a bottle or a carafe of wine to share, add to the romance and all that. The bar isn't the fastest, and people like to stop and chat so order a cocktail at your own peril. But hey, you're chilling in Berlin, so what's the rush?
