Die Weinerei

BARCHICK SAYS

Sure, we’ve rented things before, but never a glass. For 2 euros, you become the proud owner of one ordinary looking wine glass, to fill with whatever your heart desires and pay what you think it’s worth at the end of the night.

Timetime this place is a regular restaurant, but as the clock strikes 8 it becomes a magical mecca for the booze inspired bargain hunter. Lively wallpaper adorned walls with religious pictures, ironic astronauts, garden gnomes and mismatched furniture give it a comfy, hipster vibe. The hot young things live large here with their rent-a-cups. Head downstairs if you want a bit of cozy one-on-one time, in the throes of Turkish rugs and a darker, candlelit ambience.

The game plan here is simple: Choose from either white or red. There’s a perfectly good selection from around the world but since you’ve got your glass and you’re good-to-go, just try them all.

When it shuts at midnight drop your payment in the jar on your way out (don’t take the piss or the staff will have words) about 2 euros per glass should be alright, provided you can remember how many you’ve had.
