The Green Door Store

The Green Door Store

BARCHICK SAYS

Located directly under Brighton train station, this is the stop for cheap booze, good tunes, live music and late nights. With a 24-hour licence, you can drink until the sun comes up most nights of the week, though they’ll often call last orders around 4am.

This isn’t the place for a glass of wine – grab a beer for £3 and a shot of tequila, with or without a worm, then dance to the usually awesome tunes. The owners are into the Brighton band scene big time, so you can trust them to fuel your party feet, in this stripped down and cool space.

Tuesday night is Donuts, a hip hop party where the crowd are young and it’s always rammed, while weekends feature a mix of 50s R&B and techno mash ups. Saturdays are consistently 35+, and club nights are free but there is usually a cover for gigs.

After midnight on Sundays there’s a live blues band and a crowd that has been out all weekend, looking for misbehaviour. If you’re out on the pull, Sunday nights at GDS are the place to go. Don’t blame us if you regret this Monday morning though.
