Yum Yum Ninja is tucked away on the South Lanes and easy to miss, so they slapped a big garish sign and light box menu on the outside, which isn’t our style, but persevere! Head through the courtyard, strung with Chinese lanterns, into the restaurant and upstairs. They’ve got a sultry little sake bar tucked away out of sight, just how we like it.
This place does moody Oriental style well, and while the pan-Asian menu is awesome and inventive, you can hit up the small dimly lit space even if you’re not eating in the restaurant. They’ve got a good range of sakes by bottle or glass, beer on tap and Asian-inspired cocktails. The bartenders are friendly and even taught us a few words of Japanese as we worked our way through the list. The only downside is that it closes its doors at midnight on a Saturday, otherwise we would have seen the rest of our night out sake tasting.
NB. On Sunday nights your food bill is 50% off if you sign up to a membership for £5.
