The Apple

BARCHICK SAYS

It’s a boat, a bar on a mother f*cking boat! With a name like The Apple you can be sure that there’s a good supply of cider on board to keep most of Bristol well watered. There are a fair few bars on the water but it’s this place that was the apple of our eye (sorry). The upper deck is full of tables and chairs, and catch it on a sunny day and they open the sides up to let some good old West Country air in. Their Ploughmans are notoriously tasty with a whole menu dedicated to them and the option to build your own if ya picky.

Down below deck is where the serious cider talk goes down, wooden floors and leather seating with a bar at the back that makes you feel like you’re more on a mate’s house boat than a bar. They have guest ciders on tap that are all locally  brewed, around 25 bottles of cider and perrys, "apple-y" drinks and a small range of beers and wine. Much to BarChick’s delight they even had a strong list of cider and apple cocktails! The Tractor Fuel with Rich’s Medium Cider and Jamaican ginger beer was delicious and the Golden Green with Green Island Spiced Gold Rum and apple juice really got us going.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away right?... Go rock the boat baby.
