Spiler

BARCHICK SAYS

If you’re looking for a slightly more polished affair than the disheveled ruin pubs offer, then get your pretty little backside down to Spiler.

Owner and designer Roy Zsidai wanted to bring something fresh to District 7 when he created this fusion of traditional Hungarian pub and New York bar. The furniture has been collected from flea markets, warehouses and apple farmers and we particularly enjoyed the bar made from multi-coloured crates and the light bulb adorned ladders hanging from the ceiling, kitsch.

This place gets packed, but we managed to bag ourselves a table and cleared enough room to shake it out to the electro music being played by the DJ every weekend. The bar staff were adorable and dared BarChick to try the Cheeler (Cointreau, vodka, lime juice and sugar syrup shaken with raw chili) they also make a cracking Rusty Nail for the strong cocktail lovers amongst you.
