This is a beer haven for those of you that like to chill out over a pint (craft beers in this case) rather than a cocktail. This isn’t your usual restaurant, bar or pub, they call themselves a bar salon and these guys are serious; they brew their own beer in Germany and Belgium so they should know what they’re doing.

There are no tables inside, just a bar counter running around the perimeter of the bar with wooden benches. Take a seat and look at the weird art dotted around, we had a small panting of a girl that looked alarmingly like Lana Del Ray touching herself...?!

If it’s sunny sit in the great beer garden out front; it’s the perfect afternoon hangout for a group of mates. Get involved with their ping pong table, sure it’s a little wonky and you will inevitably lose the ball through the fence that opens out onto the road, but it’s all good; they have spares and a beer has never tasted better after a fierce match in the sun.

Feeling peckish? As you can tell from the big hams and salamis hanging down over the counter, they’ve got charcuterie on offer, always a good combo with beer, tuck in. If beer isn’t your thing, don’t worry there’s a few wines on offer. This place is simple so don’t expect a long list but what they DO have will be good… you’re in Cape Town after all.
