dbar at the Four Seasons

BARCHICK SAYS

After a recent move from the other end of Yorkville (Toronto’s answer to Chelsea), the Four Seasons’ dbar is exactly the kind of lobby-level joint you’d expect to find in this part of town. The bar is brand spanking new and popular with the Yorkville elite as the place to see and be seen over client lunches or afterhours. Catering for Torontonians who love a good terrace, they’ve got a spacious seasonal one, but inside is just as inviting. The interior is minimal and total understated chic, think leather seating, low lighting, lounge music and 20ft floor-to-ceiling windows. Sexy.

Let the hostess fuss over your table and once seated go straight for the cocktails. Using artisanal spirits and seasonal ingredients expect to find well-balanced creations and twists on classics. Some say the Manhattan is the best in the city and you better believe it. BarChick sank two, to help with the jetlag of course.

The food is good and the menu extensive. Chef Daniel Boulud offers guests dishes that are perfect for bar dining - charcuterie boards, burgers, oysters and Mediterranean plates. They’ve got craft beers on tap and upstairs restaurant Café Boulud’s entire wine list at your disposal, so we say save the cocktails until after the meal and test some of Ontario’s finest.
