BARCHICK SAYS

In the heart of the Jewish district, this is a great little wine bar to cosy up in with a date, and a good place to bring any wine snobs that are kicking about. It’s seating only so book in advance to secure a table, because in the evenings it’s a sell-out.

The perfect place to get stuck into some delicious Hungarian wines; they only serve the very finest so you’re in safe hands. They will happily chat you through the different bottles on offer, but if you really want to get serious then book into a wine tasting. They do tasting for tourists, as well as more serious ones if you really want to get your grape game on. If all the wine is making you sleepy then switch it up with a cocktail - an Espresso Martini should sort you right out.

There’s food on offer to soak up the wine, with everything from fresh mozzarella and pizza, to meat platters and crispy duck skin. Live music takes over three evenings a week, and there’s always a good, buzzing atmosphere beneath the vaulted ceilings.
