Bar with No Name

BARCHICK SAYS

Follow the snail trail; he’s your ticket to this rocking house party. He’s wooden and hanging above the entrance, so he’s not going anywhere fast. Climb the stairs and get stuck in. There’s a warren of rooms that beg to be explored complete with drinkers sunk into Chesterfields and smokers puffing inside (chill, we promise they’re actually outside). Cool art decorates the walls, thick velvet curtains block out Dublin and trunks beg to be opened.

Locate a bar, there’s a few to hand all of which are well stocked and have the kind of enticement that goes hand in hand with bottles of glittering booze. Grab a menu; the handy sketches of each cocktail are perfect for those who’ve already had a few too many, or those too dazzled by their date to read it. We drank a Ginger Bellini (no prizes for guessing the ingredients) and a Fubo Smash, made with Fubo Cachaça, basil leaves and lemon.

The vinyl DJ takes music back to vintage basics, and the crowd seem to drink more and stay later because of it. Amen Bowie. If you’re a smoker, welcome to your paradise; the huge smoking ‘room’ out the back is warmed by heaters and served by a bar. It's epic.
